Métis Nation British Columbia represents thirty-eight Chartered Communities province-wide. There are approximately 20,000 provincially registered Métis Citizens in BC.

VANCOUVER ISLAND & POWELL RIVER

Region 1 is home to seven MNBC Chartered Communities, with a estimated population of 3,200 registered Provincial Métis Citizens

LOWER MAINLAND

Region 2 is home to six MNBC Chartered Communities, with an estimated population of 5,600 registered Provincial Métis Citizens.

THOMPSON & OKANAGAN

Region 3 is home to eight MNBC Chartered Communities, with an estimated population of 4,000 registered Provincial Métis Citizens.

KOOTENAYS

Region 4 is home to six MNBC Chartered Communities, with an estimated population of 1,400 registered Provincial Métis Citizens.

NORTH CENTRAL

Region 5 is home to 4 MNBC Chartered Communities, with an estimated population of 3,000 registered Provincial Métis Citizens.

NORTHWEST

Region 6 is home to three MNBC Chartered Communities, with an estimated population of 700 registered Provincial Métis Citizens.

NORTHEAST

Region 7 is home to four MNBC Chartered Communities, with an estimated population of 1,000 registered Provincial Métis Citizens.

Our Mission

MNBC’s Ministry of Children and Families supports the delivery of the best services to Métis children and their families in British Columbia. With this purpose in mind, we focus on the development of a Métis specific child and family services for all our citizens within the nation.
